Virtual try-on / QUESTION GUIDE

How do you show garment lining without inventing the inside?

Photograph the actual interior when the lining matters. An exterior source does not establish pocket bags, facing, labels or seam finish. Decide whether the image is an explanatory inside view or normal worn presentation, and keep those roles distinct so the generator does not turn internal construction into the outside of the garment.

01 / HOW DO YOU SHOW GARMENT LINING WITHOUT INVENTING THE INSIDE?

Choose the interior question

A buyer may need to see whether a jacket is lined, what an internal pocket looks like or how the interior differs from the shell. Obtain a real view that answers that question. Do not ask the model to infer every hidden surface from an attractive exterior photograph.

For an illustrative coat, photograph the lining exposed naturally and identify which edge belongs to the facing. A bright inner panel may be a different material rather than a shadow. Keep the exact garment revision with the photographs.

Consider a fictional jacket revision J4. The exterior view E1 shows its shell; opened view I1 shows an unlined body, while detail I2 shows lining inside the sleeves. Map those regions separately. “Sleeves lined; body unlined” is the example’s owner-confirmed construction record, not a conclusion drawn from fabric shine. A candidate that lines the whole body depicts a different interior even if its outer color matches. If I1 does not show the sleeve interior, leave that region unresolved until a suitable real source is supplied.

Allocate the views

ViewPurposeAvoid
Exterior wornExplain overall lookInvented lining at hem
Actual opened garmentShow interior constructionGenerated hidden pockets
Interior close-upExplain a documented featureUnsupported material claim
Inside-out stylingCreative presentation if relevantConfusing it with normal exterior

A lining photograph does not prove warmth, waterproofing or performance. Keep such claims attached to actual product evidence rather than visual appearance.

Photoroom’s traditional composite tutorial calls for photographing garment insides, including necklines and waistbands. That supports obtaining separate evidence; it does not make an exterior photograph sufficient to reconstruct J4’s lining. Save one role beside each source: exterior identification, opened construction, interior detail or deliberate inside-out presentation. Turning an item inside out for photography does not establish that it is designed to be worn reversibly.

03 / HOW DO YOU SHOW GARMENT LINING WITHOUT INVENTING THE INSIDE?

Generate the appropriate presentation

In Virtual try-on, use the garment references and chosen model to request a normal exterior view unless the interior is deliberately relevant. State which lining is visible in the actual source. Review whether the candidate moves interior labels or pocket shapes onto the outside.

For a technical interior explanation, a real opened-garment photograph may be clearer than generated worn imagery. CartVisual does not recover undocumented garment construction or provide a sewing specification.

For J4’s normal worn image, request the exterior state with only the documented lining visible at the actual opening. Reject a moved inside label, an added internal pocket or a shell/lining swap. Use I1/I2 as real gallery details for the interior question instead of forcing the fashion candidate to prove every hidden region. Botika recommends comparing garment detail with the real source; its gallery controls are its own workflow, not CartVisual controls. No jacket has been photographed or generated for this exercise.

04 / HOW DO YOU SHOW GARMENT LINING WITHOUT INVENTING THE INSIDE?

Keep exterior and interior approvals connected

Inspect both assets against the same physical garment. Confirm that color, shell, opening and lining relationship agree. A later exterior revision may need another interior check if the product changes. Do not reuse an old lining image simply because the brand remains the same.

Use hidden-view evidence and collar references for neighboring questions. Save the approved role of each image so a content editor does not substitute the inside view as the identification photo.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked questions

Can AI infer an undocumented lining?

Do not present that inference as real construction.

Is an inside-out image the same as an interior detail?

No. Identify whether the image shows the opened interior or a deliberately inside-out item. An inside-out photograph alone does not establish that the garment is designed for reversible wear.

Does lining appearance prove warmth?

No. Use actual product evidence for performance claims.
