Packaging studio / QUESTION GUIDE
How do you design a hanging pack for its actual retail display?
Start from the actual hanging structure and display orientation, not a standing-box mockup. Identify what remains visible when the pack hangs beside similar products. An attractive AI tab does not establish load capacity, peg compatibility or the correct physical cutout; confirm those details with the supplier.
Define the real display condition
Ask the retailer and supplier for the actual hook/peg arrangement, orientation and supplied pack structure. Keep filled product weight and structural fit with the responsible supplier. A familiar-looking hang cutout in an image is not a compatibility or load test.
PackMojo’s retail-path guidance recommends obtaining the intended sales partner’s requirements. The hanging review below is an original application of that principle; the source does not provide a universal peg hole or safe load.
Inspect what remains visible when the pack hangs
Fictional accessory pack H06 has a variant name near the top of the front. Plan a review with the actual filled sample, intended peg, adjacent packs and any price holder. The following are possible findings to investigate, not observed test results.
| Review condition | Question | If the finding occurs |
|---|---|---|
| Pack alone on the peg | Does it tilt so the main face is no longer presented? | Record the actual orientation and ask for a supported layout/structure solution |
| Adjacent pack in front or beside it | Is the variant name obscured? | Move the cue within a confirmed visible region or revise the display |
| Price holder near the tab | Does it cover the only product identifier? | Review actual placement with the retailer |
| Product removed and replaced | Is the intended face still the one shoppers see? | Recheck the merchandising instruction |
Do not simulate success by straightening the package only for a hero render. If the layout changes, review it in the same defined display conditions rather than approving a new isolated picture.
Keep structural approval separate from artwork approval
The supplier must establish the actual cutout, load and compatibility for the pack and retailer. Do not enlarge an AI-generated tab or copy another product’s hole shape and call it engineered. If the exact structure is not represented in the concept tool, obtain an exact external mockup or sample.
Use CartVisual only for the supported visual direction. A standing-box image cannot establish how an unsupported hanging pack behaves. Keep the necessary brand and variant cues readable without turning the tab into unverified structural decoration.
Retain the approved display evidence
After the authorized physical review, keep the sample/filled-content identity, display arrangement, artwork revision and findings together. A photograph of that actual arrangement can support honest marketing; it is not a substitute for separate structural evidence.
Use shelf orientation for resting packs and sample approval for evidence scope. No filled pack, peg, retailer arrangement or load was tested for this guide.

Frequently asked questions
Does a generated hanging tab establish safe suspension?
No. Obtain the supplier’s actual structure and relevant load/fit evidence.
Can a standing mockup approve the hanging artwork?
It does not show the actual suspended orientation, neighboring packs or display obstruction.
What if the exact hang structure is unavailable in the workbench?
Use concepts only for visual discussion and obtain the exact external mockup or physical evidence.
