DELIVERY TROUBLESHOOTING / Assets & tasks
How do I stop a product contact sheet from confusing front and side views?
Use explicit view labels and inspect rotation and ordering in the generated sheet. A contact sheet is useful only if a reviewer can map each tile back to its source and intended orientation.
Work through the cause
- Prepare a review folder with stable product and view identifiers, such as SKU-A_front and SKU-A_side. Keep duplicate drafts out of that input folder.
- Generate a contact sheet with readable filename labels. Check automatic rotation before choosing it for orientation-sensitive packaging or garments.
- Verify the complete first row and the last row against the input list. Open a source file from a sampled label to confirm the mapping.
A concrete case (illustrative)
Illustrative case: a tall package side view is rotated to fill a landscape tile, making it look like a top view. Keeping its original orientation and a side-view label is more useful than filling every tile equally.
Acceptance and next action
Pass when a second person can identify the exact view and retrieve its file without guessing. This guide addresses ordering and orientation; confidential material should never be placed in a public review sheet merely to simplify access.
