Assets & tasks / FIELD GUIDE

What belongs in a product-image review contact sheet?

A review contact sheet should help someone choose and report defects without exposing the workbench account. Use stable asset identifiers, the relevant source view and the specific approval question. Keep private task receipts and customer information outside the public-facing sheet.

01 / WHAT BELONGS IN A PRODUCT-IMAGE REVIEW CONTACT SHEET?

Define the reviewer’s decision

For an illustrative four-scene headphone review, ask whether the merchandise remains accurate and which scene communicates the intended use. A row of unlabeled thumbnails makes feedback depend on phrases such as “the one on the left,” which become ambiguous after sorting. Number the candidates and retain that number in the asset record.

Include only enough source evidence to inspect the decision. A cropped source view can show the headband and ear cushions without revealing a private supplier order or an account sidebar. Obtain permission for any reference you share with another reviewer.

Define the audience before exporting. An internal reviewer may need a permitted source comparison; a public example requires a separate permission and content review. A local candidate label is sufficient for feedback. Account tokens, signed download parameters, orders and private conversations do not replace a clear asset label.

Design the review sheet

ViewConsistent thumbnail sizeMisleading crop

DecisionApprove, repair or reject with reasonUnqualified star rating

Separate product defects from style preferences. A reviewer can prefer one atmosphere while rejecting its altered cable connector. Record both judgments so a popular scene does not silently pass factual review.

Fictional sheet entryFactual decisionStyle and remaining action
H03 / revision 1 / source S01Reject: left cushion seam missingPreferred lighting does not cancel the rejection.
H02 / revision 1 / source S01Pass only the stated identity checksPreferred desk atmosphere; record reviewer and scope.
H02 / revision 2 after cropRecheck changed area and required evidenceDo not transfer approval to a different file.

These entries are proposed examples, not results from real generated candidates. Keep candidate and revision together after sorting or downloading. A content hash distinguishes files in a private record; it does not establish whether a seam or claim is correct.

03 / WHAT BELONGS IN A PRODUCT-IMAGE REVIEW CONTACT SHEET?

Make feedback actionable

Ask reviewers to name the candidate, visible region and discrepancy. Provide a place for an unresolved evidence question. If reviewers disagree, compare the relevant product reference before averaging votes. A majority aesthetic preference cannot establish that an unseen product feature is real.

Use an unresolved state when the reference hides the disputed feature. Obtain the missing authorized view instead of letting a vote decide what exists. Record the source crop used; changing it can change what evidence a reviewer sees even if the candidate is unchanged.

04 / WHAT BELONGS IN A PRODUCT-IMAGE REVIEW CONTACT SHEET?

Preserve the approved identity

After the review, link the chosen ID to the exact download and any subsequent edit. The sheet is an external editorial artifact; CartVisual does not automatically issue this review document. Read conflicting feedback for disagreements and private versus public evidence before using the sheet as a public case.

Inspect the exported sheet itself for thumbnails, filenames, destinations and notes before wider sharing. Use an approved delivery copy through the authorized route. This guide specifies a portable manual document and does not claim that CartVisual generates or sends it.

05 / WHAT BELONGS IN A PRODUCT-IMAGE REVIEW CONTACT SHEET?

An actionable sheet entry

A fictional sheet entry reads: candidate H03, desk scene, reject because the left ear cushion lost its stitched seam; compare source crop S01. Another entry can say: candidate H02, product accuracy approved, atmosphere preferred for the work-desk brief. Those are different decisions. Preserve H02 as the asset identity after downloading and editing it. If the editor changes its crop, add that edit version rather than recycling H02 without explanation. The sheet should let a reviewer point to the exact region and decision without opening an account or private task receipt.
