Product videos / QUESTION GUIDE
How do you review wheels, gears and rotating parts in an AI product clip?
Follow each rotating part and its connection to the product. A wheel that slides, a gear that passes through another gear or a knob that detaches changes the implied mechanism. Keep the planned action simple and compare its relationships with a real demonstration when mechanical behavior matters.
Identify the moving relationships
Use an actual product demonstration or manufacturer-approved explanation to establish which parts move and which remain fixed. Do not infer the mechanism from a still photograph. Mark the axle, contact point and housing that should stay connected during the action.
For an illustrative wheeled case, the wheels rotate around their actual axes while the case moves across a surface. The wheel should not become a separate floating disc. For a static showroom presentation, you may not need moving wheels at all.
Create a relationship checklist
| Relationship | Observation | Hold when |
|---|---|---|
| Wheel to axle | Center remains connected | Wheel drifts away |
| Wheel to surface | Motion looks consistent with travel | Case slides implausibly |
| Gear to gear | Actual arrangement retained | Teeth pass through body |
| Knob to housing | Fixed attachment stays visible | Knob morphs or detaches |
This visual checklist is not a mechanical simulation or engineering verification. Use qualified technical evidence for operation and performance claims.
Record what the picture actually establishes. The apparent direction of wheel rotation in sampled video is not, by itself, a mechanical test. Separate that impression from a visible axle detachment, changing number of wheels or housing penetration. When the operation matters, compare with authorized same-product material and keep uncertain behavior unresolved.
Reduce the movement to one inspectable action
In Product videos, expand an idea that names one real movement and review the storyboard. A stationary product with a gentle camera move may explain appearance better than an invented mechanism demonstration. Start from an approved frame and check the generation quote before confirming.
Inspect the final clip at normal speed, then around the moving connections. A dramatic blur or fast camera move can conceal a relationship failure. Do not add sound effects that make an inaccurate mechanism seem authoritative.
Decide whether the clip demonstrates or decorates
If you cannot verify the mechanism, use the clip only in a role that does not imply operation, or choose another shot. A caption saying conceptual does not always remove a specific visible claim. The safest edit may be an actual demonstration beside an accurate static product scene.
Use causal order review for the sequence and sound review for implied behavior. Record the connected-part observation rather than a general comment that the motion looks good.
Fictional suitcase C-v1 has two visible wheel assemblies in its approved source. The review follows their centers against the mounting brackets during a gentle camera move. This is a manual teaching exercise, not an object tracker or a tested product.
| Observation in the fictional clip | Interpretation boundary | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| One wheel center separates from its bracket | Visible connection changes | Reject the affected passage |
| A third wheel grows from the shell | Component identity changes | Reject; do not hide it with a faster edit |
| Wheel appears to reverse direction in sampled frames | Direction impression alone is inconclusive | Check actual playback/source evidence; do not certify a mechanism |
| Housing covers the attachment for part of the move | Connection cannot be inspected there | Choose a clearer view or hold the operating claim |
Do not demand a physically impossible demonstration merely to make every part move. A static case with a controlled camera move can serve an appearance shot. A real rolling demonstration has a different evidence job and must match actual product operation. General ad-planning guidance provides production context; it does not validate the rotary checklist or a specific mechanism.

Frequently asked questions
Does realistic motion prove a mechanism works?
No. It must match actual operation evidence.
Should every product have moving parts in the video?
No. Use movement only when it serves a verified explanation.
Can speed hide a defect?
It may conceal it, but it does not make the representation accurate.
