Product videos / FIELD GUIDE
What should a public transcript say about a generated product clip?
Base the transcript on the final audio and add clearly identified descriptions of important visual information. A silent clip can have a descriptive transcript without invented speech. Keep generated depictions and separately sourced product facts distinct; neither a transcript nor animation proves physical performance.
Choose the text role before writing
A basic transcript represents speech and meaningful sound. A descriptive transcript also supplies important visual information. W3C explains the difference. If a clip has no speech, do not put invented dialogue in quotation marks; label its visual description and report meaningful sounds if any. A short promotional summary is not automatically an equivalent account of the whole clip.
Use the final file, including its actual sound, overlays and ending. Do not assume that every generated clip is silent. This guide concerns the page text around that file, not whether a depicted demonstration is adequate physical evidence; use the feature-evidence review for that decision.
Write an account of the depicted sequence
Fictional example only: an eight-second generated clip shows a travel bottle on a table. A hand turns its cap, places the cap to the right, then the shot ends. Assume this invented version contains no audio. No clip was generated or played for this article.
| Part of the public text | Illustrative wording | Evidence boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Media note | Illustrative generated scene; no audio. | Describes this fictional example only |
| Visual description | A hand turns the cap and places it to the right of the bottle. The bottle stays on the table. | Report the depicted order, not tested ease or durability |
| What is not shown | The clip does not show a leak test or repeated opening cycles. | Do not replace missing observation with a performance claim |
| Separate specification | Add a capacity only if the actual product record supplies it. | Do not infer capacity from this bottle image |
A label visible in a real clip may need to be transcribed if it matters to understanding. Distinguish text added to clarify the page from words actually spoken or displayed. Do not attach the fictional wording above to a different export.
Resolve omissions against the final file
Read the proposed text while watching and listening to the final export. If the cap exits the frame rather than being placed on the table, change that sentence. If a later edit removes the opening action, remove it from the transcript. If a sound is added, describe its relevant role without assuming it proves a real click, seal or motor performance.
Keep any approved product specifications in a separately labeled section with their real source. A narrator making a claim establishes what was said, not whether the claim is true. Correct an inaccurate audio claim and its text together rather than quietly publishing a contradiction.
Publish useful text with the right version
Put the transcript or a clear link near the player. Preserve the audio and visual distinctions with readable headings or columns; do not hide repeated keywords for crawlers. Google’s AI-features guidance includes making important content available as text, while stating that indexing and serving are not guaranteed.
Record the reviewed file version and replace its transcript when the clip changes. A complete accessibility review can require more than this editorial check, including the player and any needed description or captions. CartVisual motion generation and this page text do not certify physical performance or accessibility conformance.

Recorded source-review dates are listed individually below. An undated source does not inherit the article’s publication date. Software and platform rules can change; check the current original before acting.

Frequently asked questions
Can a silent clip have a transcript?
Yes, a descriptive transcript can convey important visual information. Do not invent spoken dialogue for a clip with no speech.
Does a transcript make a generated durability claim true?
No. Distinguish what is depicted or said from separately supported product facts and physical evidence.
Will adding a transcript guarantee AI citations?
No. Provide useful visible text, keep it consistent with the clip, and evaluate discovery separately.
