Does reusing an approved creative require another generation charge?
Downloading and reusing an existing approved file is different from asking AI to create another output. First decide what the new placement requires. A simple external crop or layout change may use the existing master, while a new scene, storyboard or video is a separate operation with its own current quote.
Start with the required change rather than another Generate click
In a hypothetical olive-oil launch, one approved bottle image is needed for a newsletter and a landing-page card. The label, variant and visible scene remain suitable. The merchant needs two layouts, not automatically two new AI images. Retrieve the approved master and identify the actual differences: display shape, surrounding copy or the area available in the destination.
Check the original approval scope before reusing it. A photograph approved for an atmospheric campaign may not satisfy a marketplace identification role. A changed bottle size or label edition may make the old asset unsuitable even when its colors fit the new page. Reuse is a content decision supported by product evidence, not an exemption from review simply because the generation was previously paid.
Separate existing-file actions from new creative operations
For this invented olive-oil campaign, M1 is the accepted image of the current 500 mL bottle. The email needs surrounding page text; the landing card needs a wider crop. Neither instruction alone asks a model to draw another bottle. Check the exact files and placements before choosing an operation.
| Next action | What happens to M1 | Decision before spending |
|---|---|---|
| Download the available result | Retrieve the existing file | Check the correct account and completed result |
| Make email E1 with page text | Place M1 in an external layout | Read the full label and surrounding claim together |
| Make landscape card C1 | Crop or fit M1 externally | If the cap is cut off, change the layout or source |
| Add previously unseen scenery or product parts | Create new image content | Treat a new AI request as a separate quoted operation |
| Make motion from M1 | Use the still as a production input | Review that video workflow and each requested stage |
CartVisual’s result download is a file link. It does not resubmit the image-generation request. A failed or unavailable download is therefore a file-access problem to investigate, not evidence that another generation must be purchased. External editors, publication services and asset permissions can have their own terms or costs.
Use external layout edits without pretending they are new product evidence
Work from the downloaded master in an appropriate editor when only the layout needs to change. Keep the bottle label intact and check the crop at the target size. If the landscape card cuts off the cap, a narrower product composition or another verified source may be needed. Do not silently reconstruct missing product parts just to make an inconvenient crop fit.
The current CartVisual download workflow does not imply built-in cropping, editable on-image text or automatic quality upgrades. An external resize can provide a different delivery size, but it does not establish additional product detail. Keep the approved master separate from edited derivatives and record which version serves each placement. This prevents a low-resolution card export from replacing the only useful original.
Review a new quote when the visual state actually changes
Suppose E1 keeps M1 intact, but C1 removes the bottle cap. Keep the working email layout; hold the card until its framing answers the assigned buyer question. Do not generate a new cap merely to avoid changing the card. If a new background or different product view is actually needed, prepare the correct evidence and inspect the current quote for that request.
A motion brief is another production task. Choose the intended video workflow and review its selected model, duration, output options and required planning steps. A downloaded still does not include future storyboard images or video generation. A stage that is free or already available also does not make every later stage free. Follow the current displayed operation and task records; do not carry prices or entitlements from a different tool.
Adobe’s generative-credit FAQ describes its own feature-based generation accounting. It is background for the distinction between operations, not CartVisual’s billing terms. Here, CartVisual’s current image submission fetches a quote before submitting a generation; downloading an existing result follows a different path. No charge, download, account action or video was performed for this exercise.
If a previous submission is still uncertain, inspect the original task before creating a replacement. A second request cannot tell you whether the first completed. Keep the original result when available and record any actual charged operation separately from the number of layouts that use it.
Count creative production and publication uses separately
Keep a simple record: one accepted master, two reviewed derivatives and two intended placements. This describes the newsletter and landing-page work without pretending that it produced three independent AI results. When comparing costs, count the generation attempts actually made and the useful deliverables actually approved. Additional uses can increase practical value, but they are not evidence of additional model executions or measured conversion improvements.
Use accepted-asset cost calculation for that production review. Consult asset organization and handoff to preserve the approved master and derivatives. Reuse the file when it answers the new placement accurately; request another output only when the change requires one. Verify the quote and access for that specific next operation.

Recorded source-review dates are listed individually below. An undated source does not inherit the article’s publication date. Software and platform rules can change; check the current original before acting.

Frequently asked questions
Does downloading an approved result generate it again?
No. The existing-result download retrieves a file; it does not submit a new generation. If access fails, check the original completed task and account rather than buying a replacement to diagnose the problem.
Is another generation free when I reuse the same reference?
Do not assume that. A new generation has its own current quote and access requirements even when its input is reused.
Does one accepted image used in two layouts count as two generations?
No. Record one accepted generated master and its reviewed derivatives or publication uses separately.
