Assets & tasks / PRACTICAL CHECK

What should you save before handing off an unfinished creative draft?

Before handing off unfinished work, record its real stopping state, source versions, unresolved decision and next authorized action. CartVisual retains some workbench draft data locally, but local retention is not a shared project, an approval record or proof that a generation was never submitted.

01 / WHAT SHOULD YOU SAVE BEFORE HANDING OFF AN UNFINISHED CREATIVE DRAFT?

Name the stopping state before you describe the next step

A brief can be unsent, a plan can await approval, a task can be submitted or a completed output can await review. Each needs a different next action. Do not write only “continue tomorrow.” The recipient must know whether continuing means obtaining a missing fact, approving a plan, checking an existing task or reviewing a file.

In a fictional B7 backpack campaign, draft D1 proposes a zipper-close view, but the authoritative reference does not show the zipper clearly. Record “plan unapproved; zipper evidence missing; do not submit motion.” If a separate task J7 was already submitted, record J7 and its known status instead. Do not collapse those alternatives into one record saying both “unsent” and “running.”

02 / WHAT SHOULD YOU SAVE BEFORE HANDING OFF AN UNFINISHED CREATIVE DRAFT?

Check what the local workbench actually retained

Current workbenches can retain selected text/settings in this browser tab and selected media through local browser storage. The retained media is scoped to the tab, account and tool. These are partial local drafts, not a promise that every field, uploaded file, approval or price will survive or transfer to another device.

Before leaving, reopen the relevant workbench in the same context and verify the values and files you need. Keep an authorized external copy of the source evidence and brief. If browser storage is unavailable, cleared or expired, do not assume a complete draft backup exists. A recipient signing in elsewhere should not be told that your local draft will appear in their workspace.

03 / WHAT SHOULD YOU SAVE BEFORE HANDING OFF AN UNFINISHED CREATIVE DRAFT?

Build the handoff around decisions and real files

B7 handoff fieldIllustrative entryWhat it prevents
Authoritative sourceB7 edition 2 exterior photograph; zipper detail still missingTreating an attractive candidate as construction evidence
Stopping stateD1 plan unapproved, no confirmed generation submissionMistaking a proposal for a completed task
Unresolved decisionWhich actual zipper construction must remain visible?Inventing the missing mechanism
Next action and ownerObtain an authorized detail reference, then revise and approve D1Starting another request by habit
Existing-task alternativeIf J7 exists, its owner checks J7 firstDuplicate generation from a handoff misunderstanding

A request with no returned task identifier is not automatically proven unsent. Write “submission unconfirmed” and have its owner investigate the existing account/task state before deciding whether another request is needed.

04 / WHAT SHOULD YOU SAVE BEFORE HANDING OFF AN UNFINISHED CREATIVE DRAFT?

Transfer the brief without transferring account authority

Give the recipient the source versions, approved facts, intended use, unresolved points and relevant exported files through your normal authorized storage. Check that the recipient can open the actual media. Include a selected interval only when it matters; do not substitute screenshots or a remembered filename for the required source.

Creatify describes reviewing and redirecting work at stages in its own agent workflow. This is a comparison for clear stopping points, not documentation of an CartVisual team-project or approval-transfer feature. Do not hand over passwords, browser authentication state or private provider instructions as a substitute for a production brief.

05 / WHAT SHOULD YOU SAVE BEFORE HANDING OFF AN UNFINISHED CREATIVE DRAFT?

Resume from the recorded boundary

For D1, the next creator first obtains the missing zipper evidence, revises the plan and verifies their own actual workbench inputs. They review the current access and quote before any new chargeable action; yesterday’s noted quote is historical context. For J7, its owner checks the existing task instead of recreating it to see what happens.

Keep completed asset organization separate from this unfinished-work handoff. When D1 eventually produces an accepted output, update the record with the actual result and its approval scope. This fictional example did not save a real draft, transfer an account or submit a generation.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked questions

Does a locally retained draft become a shared team project?

No. Verify what your own tab/account/tool retained and provide an authorized external handoff package. Do not assume another device or account receives it.

Can I label a request unsent because no task ID returned?

No. That can be an unconfirmed submission. Investigate the existing account/task state before creating another request.

Can the next creator rely on the previous quote?

Use it as historical context only. Verify current access, exact inputs and the current quote before confirming new chargeable work.
