Assets & tasks / PRODUCTION GUIDE

What should you check when a completed result will not download?

Keep the completed task and investigate the download separately. First confirm the owner account and selected result, then read the browser or website error. A saved preview, a successful generation and a usable local file are different states. Recover delivery through the existing result before deciding whether another generation is necessary.

01 / WHAT SHOULD YOU CHECK WHEN A COMPLETED RESULT WILL NOT DOWNLOAD?

Locate the result that actually completed

Open Generation tasks in the account that submitted the request. Identify the product, creation time and task, then confirm that its result is present. A remembered success message from another tab cannot identify which of several similar images you are trying to retrieve. My assets is useful for completed creations; the task record supplies the generation context.

For an illustrative ceramic-mug campaign, one task completed and another remains pending. The failed download belongs to the completed mug image. Keep that distinction in the investigation: the pending task may need a status check, but it cannot explain a local storage error affecting the completed image. Record the selected task before trying another retrieval.

02 / WHAT SHOULD YOU CHECK WHEN A COMPLETED RESULT WILL NOT DOWNLOAD?

Classify the point where delivery stops

ObservationInvestigate firstUseful evidence
Sign-in or permission messageOwner account and current authenticationExact visible message
Browser reports interrupted transferConnection and download historyFilename, time and transfer error
Browser cannot save the fileDestination access and available storageChosen location and browser error
Task completed but result cannot be foundWebsite result availabilityTask identifier and result action

These are investigation routes rather than diagnoses. A permission message does not establish that the output was deleted. A thumbnail can remain visible while a file request fails. Write down whether the failure happened before a transfer started, during transfer or when opening the saved file. That observation is more useful than reporting that the AI stopped working.

03 / WHAT SHOULD YOU CHECK WHEN A COMPLETED RESULT WILL NOT DOWNLOAD?

Retry retrieval with a clear stopping point

Google Chrome documents download failures involving connection, missing files, storage and authorization.

Check the browser's download history and intended save location. If the connection interrupted an existing transfer, use the browser's available resume action or retrieve the same completed result again. If saving failed, choose an accessible location with enough space. Avoid repeatedly creating files whose contents you have not checked. Do not disable security protections merely to force an unexplained blocked download.

For an authorization problem, return to CartVisual and confirm that you are signed in as the task owner. Private result routes require authentication; an address copied to another browser or collaborator does not carry your account access. After restoring the correct session, reopen the existing task and use its result action.

Use a fictional retrieval record K8: owner account Work, completed mug result R8 and pending task K9. If R8 still previews but the browser says “Disk full,” fix the local save destination and retrieve R8; do not restart K8 or investigate K9 as the cause. If the same R8 action instead requests sign-in after an account switch, restore the authorized Work session and reopen R8 from that task. The two messages justify different first steps, and neither proves that the completed output was deleted.

After the appropriate correction, stop repeating identical attempts if the same result remains unavailable. Record the task, result action, message and time for Feedback. A local file that opens as an error response or will not fully decode is not a usable mug image; renaming its extension does not repair delivery. These are invented branch examples, not an actual disk, account or download test.

04 / WHAT SHOULD YOU CHECK WHEN A COMPLETED RESULT WILL NOT DOWNLOAD?

Send a delivery-specific support record

When the same result remains unavailable, use Feedback to describe the delivery failure. Include the task identifier, approximate time, image or video type, visible error and whether a preview still opens. If you downloaded a partial file, describe its observed size or opening error. Keep passwords, cookies, payment credentials and unrelated private references outside the report.

State what you need: access to the existing completed result, or confirmation of its availability. A generation-quality complaint asks a different question. Support may need to investigate storage or authorization; neither you nor this guide can guarantee recovery of a missing file. Preserve the original task while that question is unresolved.

05 / WHAT SHOULD YOU CHECK WHEN A COMPLETED RESULT WILL NOT DOWNLOAD?

Close the issue on a usable file

Once retrieval works, open the saved original and compare it with the selected mug preview. Check the full image, not just the operating system's thumbnail. For video, verify that playback reaches the intended end. A successful transfer settles delivery only; the product and publication review still belong to the actual file.

Record the verified filename beside the task, then label any partial or error downloads as unverified and keep them separate before editing. Use the preview-to-download check if several similar outputs exist. Creating another image is appropriate only when a separate creative decision calls for it, or the delivery investigation establishes that a replacement is needed. A fresh generation would not repair the original browser or account problem.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked questions

Does a visible thumbnail prove that the original file is downloadable?

No. Preview display and retrieval of the original are separate checks. Confirm the actual completed download.

Should I buy another generation after a disk-space error?

Resolve the local saving problem and retrieve the existing result first. Disk space does not establish a problem with the generated image.

Can I send the private download address to an editor as the whole handoff?

Use an authorized downloaded file and appropriate external transfer. A private address alone does not grant the editor access to your account.
