Product images / QUESTION GUIDE

How do you distinguish a prepared food serving from the quantity sold?

State whether the image represents package contents, one prepared serving or a serving suggestion with added ingredients. A generous AI food scene can imply that toppings, garnish or a bowlful of prepared food arrive in the package. Define the pictured quantity and additions before styling the scene.

01 / HOW DO YOU DISTINGUISH A PREPARED FOOD SERVING FROM THE QUANTITY SOLD?

Describe the product state

Use product-owner records for the quantity sold and preparation instructions. Photograph the actual pack and a prepared example if preparation matters. Keep dry weight, prepared amount and number of servings distinct. Do not calculate a serving count from the apparent size of a generated bowl.

For a hypothetical oatmeal pack, berries and milk may be serving additions rather than supplied ingredients. The main scene can illustrate preparation, but the nearby copy should say what was added. The image must not change the flavor variant or suggest a garnish is inside the pack.

Consider fictional owner-approved records for a 400 g dry-oat pack and a pictured preparation using 40 g of that dry product plus separately added milk and berries. Keep “400 g sold,” “40 g used in this pictured preparation” and “milk/berries not supplied” as three different facts. Dividing 400 by 40 gives ten equal dry-product allocations; it does not measure the cooked yield, establish a nutritional serving size or prove that the pictured bowl holds a particular prepared weight. These numbers are an invented record exercise, not a recipe or preparation test.

Write a serving inventory

Use a real prepared reference for texture and approximate portion presentation. A generated scene is not a nutritional assessment or a test of the product’s preparation yield.

Turn that record into a nearby caption draft: “400 g dry oats. Serving suggestion prepared with 40 g oats; milk and berries added separately and not included.” Replace every number and ingredient with the actual approved information before use. If the image contains two full bowls but the caption describes one preparation, either document what each bowl represents or use one bowl. A garnish disclosure cannot repair a scene that visibly depicts a different flavor or product. Review props versus items actually supplied with the complete page.

03 / HOW DO YOU DISTINGUISH A PREPARED FOOD SERVING FROM THE QUANTITY SOLD?

Generate a deliberately simple serving scene

In Product images, add the pack photograph and the prepared reference where available. Describe the food state and name the additions. Keep the package readable and avoid multiple indistinguishable bowls that make the portion relationship harder to explain. Review the food and pack separately.

If the generator turns a powder into granules or adds visible ingredients absent from the actual product, reject that representation. A written serving-suggestion label cannot repair a picture that fundamentally shows a different food. Choose an actual prepared photograph when the texture is central to purchase.

Photoroom distinguishes a believable scene from the correct merchandise; its advice does not verify this food’s yield or ingredients. In the current CartVisual Product images upload, keep each source clearly identified in your product brief so the prepared bowl is not mistaken for another sale item. Multiple uploaded photos supply context, not measured portion data. If prepared appearance cannot be supported by an actual preparation, publish an accurate pack view instead of a synthetic serving claim. No preparation or generation has been run for this guide.

04 / HOW DO YOU DISTINGUISH A PREPARED FOOD SERVING FROM THE QUANTITY SOLD?

Check the complete communication

Read the scene with its caption, quantity statement and preparation text. The buyer should be able to tell what ships and what they need to add. Have the product owner verify every factual food statement; this guide supplies a visual worksheet, not dietary or regulatory advice.

Use food photography planning for the broader shoot and ingredient-prop review for implied composition. Keep the serving inventory with the released image when adapting it for another channel.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked questions

Can I show added toppings?

Yes, distinguish them from package contents and verify that the food presentation is representative.

Can AI establish a serving yield?

No. Use verified package and preparation records. Dry-product allocation arithmetic does not measure cooked yield or establish a nutritional serving size.

Should the pack remain visible?

Often it helps identification, but choose the layout around the image’s stated job.
