Credits & account / QUESTION GUIDE
When should you compare a membership upgrade with an extra credit pack?
First check whether your current membership grants the feature you need. Extra credits add capacity under their current terms; they should not be assumed to unlock another tier’s permissions. Then compare the actual campaign requirement, remaining allowance and displayed purchase terms rather than choosing only by the largest credit number.
List the needed actions
Write the tools, resolutions, durations and concurrency required for the project. Separate necessary capabilities from convenient capacity. A positive credit balance alone does not establish access to a membership-only tool. Use the current pricing page and the workbench’s actual access state.
For an illustrative campaign, the team may have enough credits for images but require a member-only design workflow. Another team may already have that access and simply need additional generation capacity. Those are different purchase decisions.
Create a comparison worksheet
| Question | Current plan | Upgrade option | Extra pack |
|---|---|---|---|
| Required feature access | Verify | Read exact entitlement | Do not assume change |
| Usable credits | Check current pools | Read billing terms | Read pack terms |
| Timing | Project deadline | When change takes effect | When credits become available |
| Recurring commitment | Current renewal | Updated membership terms | Check purchase type |
Do not fill the worksheet with remembered prices. Quote values and terms can change, and a plan label alone does not explain how an upgrade affects an existing paid period.
Estimate capacity from actual quotes
Use the workbench quote for each planned action and total only the actions you intend to submit. Allow a deliberate review budget if needed, but do not assume unlimited retries. Keep already accepted files out of the new-generation requirement when they can be reused honestly.
Check any expiry and spending-order terms before counting several credit pools as interchangeable. CartVisual articles do not override the checkout or account record. If the change takes effect later, do not plan a deadline around access you do not yet have.
Fictional project Q needs three actions at an invented 40-credit quote each, so its plan needs 120 credits. Account A has the required access and 150 credits that remain usable through the task deadline. Its numerical remainder is 30 credits before any deliberate extra review. Account B has the same balance but lacks the required access. The same top-up would not solve both cases.
| Fictional state | What the arithmetic can answer | What still decides the purchase |
|---|---|---|
| A: access confirmed; 150 applicable credits; quote 120 | Base capacity appears sufficient with 30 remaining | Actual quote, task availability and chosen review allowance |
| B: feature or quality access absent | A balance of 150 does not establish access | Check an eligible plan and when its rights take effect |
| C: credits expire before the scheduled work | Displayed total is not enough timing evidence | Check actual usable pools at the intended date |
| D: proposed plan change starts after deadline | More future allowance may arrive too late | Use the actual effective date; do not assume immediate activation |
All values and accounts above are invented, not CartVisual offers or account observations. Compare only options that meet the needed access and timing first. Then read their current purchase and renewal terms. A membership can grant rights without unlimited allowance; a pack can add allowance without changing rights. A pending checkout is not a confirmed paid period, and this worksheet makes no purchase.
Record the selected reason
An illustrative note might say: existing feature access sufficient; additional capacity required for a defined image set. Another might say: feature access must change; extra credits alone do not solve it. Keep that reasoning with the campaign plan rather than recommending a higher tier to every user.
Use access boundaries and credit-pool review for underlying terms. Read the current options before confirming a purchase. This is a product-use comparison, not a promise of the cheapest option in every circumstance.

Frequently asked questions
Does a top-up unlock every tool?
Do not assume so. Check membership entitlements separately.
Should I compare only credits per dollar?
No. Include access, timing, expiry and purchase terms.
Can an article override checkout terms?
