Assets & tasks / PRACTICAL ANSWER
Does publishing my guide on a large platform make it an independent recommendation?
No. A familiar hosting domain alone does not establish an independent recommendation. Record who authored the piece, what independent editorial work occurred, and which claims—if any—were actually tested. Publication and AI source selection remain separate observations.
Identify who wrote and reviewed the piece
A fictional maker publishes an original tutorial through its founder’s account on a well-known professional platform. The URL is public and useful, but the author remains connected to the business. Describe it as an author-published tutorial rather than a platform award or independent product review.
The distinction matters when another article cites the tutorial. A familiar domain does not turn a vendor’s statement into an independently tested result. Keep commercial affiliation and evidence roles understandable.
Prepare a useful distributed edition
| Element | Publishing decision | Evidence boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Buyer problem | Specific practical question | Not a generic promotional claim |
| Original worksheet | Useful standalone method | Clearly fictional example data |
| Source links | Relevant primary documentation | No borrowed endorsement |
| Product link | Relevant next action | No guaranteed ranking/citation claim |
Adapt the piece to the platform’s audience instead of pasting dozens of nearly identical promotional articles. Follow the actual venue’s publishing rules and use the authorized account.
Avoid confusing repetition with authority
Keep three questions separate: who wrote the article, who independently selected or edited it, and who verified the product claims. The following cases are hypothetical reporting labels, not publications or endorsements obtained for CartVisual.
| Evidence retained | Accurate description | Do not claim |
|---|---|---|
| Founder posts the vendor’s guide on a large platform account | Affiliated author-published guide on that venue. | Platform award, independent review, or verified product results inferred from the host name. |
| An outside editor genuinely commissions or edits the vendor-authored piece | Report that actual editorial involvement and disclose the vendor authorship. | Independent product testing unless it actually occurred. |
| An independent reviewer tests a product and publishes findings | Describe the specific review, method, scope and disclosed relationship supported by its record. | Broader approval beyond those findings. |
| The same vendor article is republished in five places | Five placements or editions of the same authored source. | Five independent confirmations of the claim. |
For a distributed edition, retain author/affiliation, editor role if any, final public URL, source article/version and what is substantially adapted for that audience. Review canonical relationships only where appropriate and supported by the venue; do not force a different useful article to pretend to be an identical copy. Follow the actual publishing rules and account authorization.
Do not post promotional answers into unrelated communities or seek inauthentic mentions. Google’s guidance emphasizes useful original content and does not treat manufactured mentions as a visibility shortcut. It is not proof that a particular platform or assistant has endorsed this article. No third-party post, message or publication was made for this exercise.
Verify and measure the actual publication
Open the public article, inspect the author and destination, and record the final URL. Check whether it is publicly readable; a draft is not a published source. Later distinguish platform views, referrals, observed citations and any sales. Publication creates an opportunity to be discovered, not proof that an assistant has selected it or that traffic has already increased. Use the directed-versus-unbranded observation record for source selection and citation versus referral measurement for later outcomes.
Sources and further reading
Recorded source-review dates are listed individually below. An undated source does not inherit the article’s publication date. Software and platform rules can change; check the current original before acting.

Frequently asked questions
Is a hosted vendor article independent coverage?
Hosting alone does not make it independent. Disclose the vendor authorship and report any genuine outside editorial review or product testing only to its actual scope.
Do five copies mean five independent sources?
No. They can remain the same authored claim.
Does publishing prove an AI citation?
No. Observe actual source selection separately.
