REFERENCE TROUBLESHOOTING / Product images
How do I keep tire tread and sidewall markings correct in AI product images?
Supply separate actual references for the tread and sidewall, with their orientation recorded. A recognizable black tire is not enough. Review groove paths and printed information independently, and do not infer fitment, performance or directional use from a generated tread pattern.
Identify what the reference actually proves
Tire grooves repeat around a curved surface, which makes them easy to regularize into a generic pattern. The sidewall is another information surface: size markings, branding and any orientation indicators can become plausible-looking but incorrect text. A front-facing tread view may not establish the sidewall, while a beauty shot of the sidewall may conceal groove junctions. Keep these roles explicit instead of asking one dramatic angle to prove everything.
Prepare the evidence before generating
- Identify the exact tire variant and obtain a complete product view. Record which side and orientation are shown.
- Photograph a representative tread section with enough neighboring grooves to follow their junctions. Keep a separate readable sidewall detail.
- If markings carry usage or fitment information, verify them against the actual product and relevant documentation. Do not reconstruct obscured text from familiarity.
- Generate a restrained angle supported by the references. Compare groove paths first, then sidewall text and the relationship between the two views.
Example creative request and a review matrix
Illustrative request: Present the referenced tire at the supplied angle. Preserve the actual groove junctions, tread arrangement, sidewall lettering and visible orientation marks. Do not substitute a generic tread, add performance symbols or invent size information. Keep any hidden region outside the frame unless an appropriate reference exists.
| Observed symptom | Evidence to inspect | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| The pattern looks detailed but junctions differ | Follow one full groove route in the source | Reject invented tread |
| Sidewall numbers are sharp but wrong | Read against the genuine detail | Reject fabricated information |
| A direction mark moves after a pose change | Compare recorded orientation | Reject an unsupported mirrored view |
Make the release decision
Use real detail photographs for fitment-relevant information, with specifications from verified documentation. An image review does not establish grip, wear, load capability or suitability for a vehicle. When a required marking is unreadable in the original, obtain a clearer actual reference rather than letting AI complete it. A realistic product scene should not become a substitute for technical identification.

Frequently asked questions
Can I approve the image because the brand and tire shape are right?
No. Tread construction and sidewall information can still be wrong. Review both using the exact variant’s references.
